In February 2022, when conflict struck Ukraine, the devastation was immense. Homes were destroyed, essential infrastructure decimated, and countless lives were forever changed. Amidst this turmoil, many Ukrainians found refuge through sponsorship programs in the USA, though arriving families often faced challenges in establishing a new life with limited support.
Orel Alliance was founded in April 2024 in response to this humanitarian crisis. Our mission is to ensure that every Ukrainian family receives the assistance they need to rebuild and thrive. By harnessing the strength and resilience symbolized by our name—“orel,” meaning “eagle” in Ukrainian—we stand united in providing security, independence, and a pathway to integration for all.
Omaha became home to more than 300 Ukrainian families, with more arriving every week.
