At the ILC Ukrainian Family Assistance Program, we are committed to supporting Ukrainian refugees as they rebuild their lives in Nebraska and across the U.S. Our work is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and community, providing much-needed support to those displaced by the war in Ukraine. Here are some of the ways we’re making a difference:

Orel Alliance Employment Assistance Program (EAP)

Orel Alliance Employment Assistance Program

The Orel Alliance EAP helps individuals secure and retain jobs through career counseling, job placement, resume building, and training programs. Services are free and prioritize underserved communities, including veterans and those with disabilities.

 

Key Services:

  • Job Search Support: Personalized job matching, job fairs, and hiring events.

  • Resume & Interview Prep: One-on-one resume workshops and mock interviews.

  • Training Programs: Skills development in industries like healthcare, construction, and technology.

  • Job Retention Support: Workplace accommodations, check-ins, and mentorship.

  • Entrepreneurship Assistance: Business planning, legal guidance, and marketing support.

  • Financial & Legal Help: Wage dispute advocacy, financial literacy workshops, and job-related expense counseling.

Transportation Assistance

Reliable transportation is critical for refugee families to access work, healthcare, and education.

Our Services:

  • Access to Resources: Rides to medical appointments, job interviews, schools, and government offices.

  • Financial Support: Transportation stipends, pre-paid transit cards, and volunteer-driven rides.

  • Cultural Orientation: Public transit training and road safety education.

  • Local Partnerships: Collaboration with rideshare services, community shuttles, and car donation programs.

  • Independence Building: Support for driver’s licenses, car insurance, and budgeting for transportation needs.

Housing Assistance

Stable housing is essential for successful refugee resettlement.

Our Services:
 

  • Emergency Housing: Shelters, host homes, and rental stipends.

  • Long-Term Housing: Rental application support, tenant rights education, and lease signing assistance.

  • Financial Support: Help with rent, utilities, security deposits, and housing vouchers.

  • Housing Education: Home maintenance guidance, lease translation services, and cultural training for landlords.

  • Ongoing Stability: Affordable housing referrals, budgeting assistance, and homeownership guidance.

Ukrainian Children

Children’s Activities

We provide Ukrainian refugee children with education, recreation, and emotional support.

Our Programs:
 

  • Education Support: ESL classes, after-school tutoring, and homework assistance.

  • Recreational Activities: Sports, arts and crafts, music, and field trips.

  • Emotional Well-Being: Trauma-informed therapy, play therapy, and peer support groups.

  • Cultural Enrichment: Ukrainian language classes, cultural events, and community exchange programs.

  • Family Engagement: Parent workshops, support groups, and family counseling.

Our Impact:

  • Housing Assistance: Over 700 families placed in safe housing with rental support.

  • Essential Services: Food, medical, and financial aid applications, plus healthcare screenings.

  • Employment Services: Job search help, work permits, and financial literacy training.

  • Community Building: Cultural orientation, ESL classes, and social gatherings.

  • Legal Support: Immigration assistance, work permits, and family reunification.
     

Our long-term support tracks families for 24 months to ensure stability. Join us in making a difference through donations, volunteering, or sponsorships.
